Ying and the Yang

homeless

Each painting, whether the serene Venice with its waterways and the stark warning about global warming, or the poignant portrait of a homeless child nestled in Italy’s vacation window frame, speaks volumes about life’s duality.
The Venice painting captures my cherished time in Italy, but the swirling blue currents with the buildings under them serve as reminders of a future endangered by environmental neglect, echoing my own experiences of loss.
Adjacent, the homeless girl in the frame stands as a testament to resilience, a reminder that beauty can emerge from decay. There are lessons to be learned from all of our life’s obstacles. A truth without shadows is no truth at all. Believe me I have taken too many photos on cloudy days.
